About Me
I am a qualified counsellor and therapist based in Central London. I work both
face-to-face and remotely.

Hi, my name is Ciala and I'm passionate about helping people experience growth and healing and change.

My background
I have a corporate background and worked as a lawyer in Australia and in the City of London before becoming a therapist. This experience has given me the opportunity to understand firsthand the challenges that come with highly pressurised work environments and continues to inform my practice with clients, some of whom come from similar work cultures. I have a particular interest in helping people with issues arising where there is conflict between the demands of their professional and private lives, though I welcome clients of all backgrounds and take an inclusive stance to difference in all forms.

How I work
I am an integrative therapist, meaning I am trained in a range of therapeutic styles and theories about human development, which I bring together to help my clients find a clearer understanding of themselves and any problems they are facing.
Some of the approaches I draw on include, relational, psychodynamic, attachment-based, person-centred, humanistic and body psychotherapy including holistic mindfulness-based and trauma-informed approaches. Importantly, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. I tailor the way I work to meet the needs of each individual client. I recognise that every relationship is different and I will engage with you as the unique person that you are.
Professional training
I trained at The Minster Centre, Europe’s leading institute for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice according to their ethical framework. You can find me on the BACP register here. You can also learn more about me on Counselling Directory and Psychology Today.
Over the years, I have provided counselling and psychotherapy services in a number of different mental health settings, including the East London Counselling Service (formerly MIND) based in Leyton and FreshStart Psychotherapy at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Maida Vale. I have worked with a diverse range of clients and I am experienced in both long-term and short-term counselling and psychotherapy.
I now work in private practice as a BACP registered therapist and counsellor.

What I can offer you
I focus on providing a safe space where you can feel seen and heard as we explore together whatever is troubling you and work towards your goals. My style is warm, authentic and non-judgmental and I foster a supportive environment to help facilitate the change you want to see in your life.
Ultimately, I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is of central importance in this process and this is also what the research tells us. I can help create the type of relationship that supports you going forward.
